Exfoliating Naturally with Enzymes

December 10, 2017

This time of year, pumpkin facials are popular and promoted widely by skin care spas. But what you may not know is that a variety of fruit enzyme facials are used year-round as a natural treatment to exfoliate the skin. When you schedule a facial with me, I will always assess your skin and listen to your concerns so that I can customize your treatment and select the most effective fruit enzyme exfoliating mask for your skin.

Enzymatic exfoliation is a natural plant active based therapy. Enzymes have a digestive effect, helping to reduce dead skin for a deeper exfoliation. The enzymes also promote deep hydration to protect from environmental damage while relieving the surface signs of aging. Other ingredients like arbutin and kojic provide extreme lightening capabilities to reduce age spots. These treatments are especially effective for those with skin damage and premature aging. Fruit enzymes are natural and will leave your face feeling rejuvenated.

During each facial, I select a specific enzyme based on the feel and texture of the clients' skin, as well as what's going on in my client's life and the outside environment. All of these factors help me choose the best enzyme and finishing mask to meet each clients specific needs. For example, if a client has gotten a lot of sun on a vacation, her skin may need a more aggressive enzyme that may cause slight flaking for a day or two. Another approach could be to select a  gentle hydrating enzyme to help her sun-parched skin.
